Bath, Ontario is a quiet town founded by United Empire Loyalists in the days of the American Revolution. Originally a busy port in the early days of the 1800's, it slipped into its quiet existence as it was bypassed by the expanding railroads. Today, it is a quiet village that offers a welcome stop for cruising sailors.
Located approximately 14 nm west of Kingston, Bath lies along the shore of a secluded cove. Just east of the harbour is a Flashing Red light (KN8) that marks the end of the shoal extending from Bath Point. Keep that light to your starboard and enter directly into the cove. At the head of the cove is a government dock. There are no facilities at this dock. East of Bath Point is Loyalist Cove Marina. This is the main sailing facility in Bath. The marina is bounded on the south by an 'L'-shaped rubble-stone breakwater surmounted with a row of white lights. Entrance is on the east side of the marina, around the short leg of the 'L'.
