DESCRIPTION Toledo Beach is an excellent, man-made harbor. It has good, deep water and is a favorite stop-over for large vessels - power and sail. It sits at the edge of what used to be the hude Black Swamp that enclosed the entire west end of Lake Erie. Throughout the 1800's, it was progressively drained until all that remains are the marshes along the western shoreline. |

APPROACHES The approaches to Toledo Beach are clear from all directions. There is a charted range of 290°T. The entrance channel is marked with a Q RED on the north side of the entrance and a Q GREEN on the south side. Once inside, Toledo Beach Marina is to your port (south side) and, if you bear to your starboard, North Cape Yacht Club is on the north side of the basin. |

MARINAS, YACHT CLUBS, MOORINGS, ANCHORAGES Toledo Beach Marina (734) 243-3800 VHF 9 Toledo Beach Marina is located on the south side of the harbor basin. There are 550 slips with 100 set aside for transient sailors. There is a fuel dock (diesel and gasoline) and a pumpout station. Water and power hookups are available at each slip. There is a full repair and maintenance facility capable of carrying out engine, mechanical and fibreglass repairs. There are restrooms, showers and laundry facilities. There are lots of amenities in this well-kept marina. There are two bath houses, a heated swimming pool, volleyball court, pavilion, ship's store, waterfront picnic area with BBQ grills and a restaurant/lounge. North Cape Yacht Club (734) 242-5081 VHF 9 NCYC has approximately 150 slips with several set aside for transient sailors. There is no fuel dock but there is a pumpout station. There is water and power dockside. There are restrooms and showers in the clubhouse. The clubhouse also has a snack bar and a lounge. Other amenities include a beach and swimming area, picnic grounds and BBQ grills. |
